So here it is, close to 2 am and I'm waiting at the train station to pick someone up coming in from N.D. on the 1:40 am train. Well evidently there was a train derailment in Montana and everyone has to be bussed in from and to Montana.
Now there are quite a few people outside waiting to board the bus. It's 37 degrees outside, there's a 5+mph wind coming from the SE, straight up 1st Ave and right across the front of the station. There's all kinds of room inside the station to wait to board, but most people are outside as the buses are parked and ready.
There were 3 buses that had to be loaded, then moved out, then another 3 buses had to be loaded. Well among all of these people, there were a few with small children. Two in particular got my attention and held it for the duration it seems. Here is a mother and grandmother, sitting outside on the bench, passing a kendle or something similar back and forth. The mother's wearing a sweat shirt and basketball shorts. The grandma is wearing warm clothing, and sitting on mothers lap is a 3 yr old with no shoes, just socks, a light blanket wrapped around her and no hat.
Although the mother held the child close, what do ya bet for the price of that gadget they were srewin' around with for over an hour, they could've clothed the 3 yr old? Now these are the same kind of people that cry about free health care. That they can't afford the cost of it these days and they need some way to take care of their sick child or grand child so we need to foot the bill.
Whatever happened to common sense? 37 degrees with wind is warm clothing weather and no one has to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. Have we done such a great job, in our strive to be a benevolent and politically correct society that we've actually encouraged this kind of stupidity? I see quite a bit of this kind of thing out there and what's worse is that there doesn't seem to be any kind of shame in it. The result of kids having kids and I wonder just how many of them are actually 'educated'. That is to say how many of them went to these government run failed institutions called schools? I'll bet quite a few, as it's getting more and more difficult these days to tell the difference between those that do or did, and those that don't or didn't.
Funny thing though. There's a significant amount of Russians among the immigrants in this community and not all of them are well off. But you can see them by their purpose and preparedness in winter and the care and attentiveness they pay to their young. Us? Here in good old Amerika? Well as long as we have our McDonalds, tattoos, piercings, meth, crack, welfare checks, smokes, booze, beer, Value Village & Good Will, well we're rollin' in it baby! And guess what? We BREED!
And the BEST part is that CPS is runnin' around ruinin' families while more politically correct, better off young and NOT so young Amerikan couples are adapting who? Oh yes, cute little kids from everywhere around the world but HERE. Now to be fair I know that's not entirely true about the adaption part, but if you hear about it in celebrity news, chances are it's someone adapting from China, or India, or Africa, or South America, anywhere but here, and they sure can't have pale skin...oh that's a no no!
Anyway, back to the stupidity at the bus station. What did I do about this situation you may ask? NOTHING! NOT A *** DAMN THING! You know why? Because there's no way I could've approached them with money because there was no place to buy anything, nor did i have any hats or blankets or any extra clothing at all to give them. Now I could've given them money but not without making a comment that probably would've gotten my money thrown back at me, a couple of screamin' meemees all worked up (sp?) and consequently a screamin' baby goin, and a bunch of do gooders comin' at me like I was some kind of evil monster because I wanted a kid to be warm, and had no compassion for the gadget playin', baby freezin', multi-generational stupidity.
Oh well. Forgive my rant. I feel much better now. Time to go listen to some of my fellow SCHOOLED Amerikans attempt to speak in complete sentences.
Tar tar
